-----All of the evil ones stare at Sol as if awaiting his arrival all along and the hate that permeates the air is thick.
-----"FOOL!" Devlin�s voice erupts filling the cavern with frightening echoes, as she points at the interrupting warrior, "you and your friends have made your way here and no doubt have the crystal that belongs to Her Most Dark and Dreadful Goddess, Noctura! The terrors and horrors that await your puny souls cannot be imagined! From this darkest of all temples there is no escape save for the death you shall wish for but will only serve to send your souls into the deepest and coldest pits of Gehenna itself!"
-----The High Priestess stands more erect as if she has become a poisonous snake ready to strike. "You have no course but surrender yourselves and commit thy souls unto the Great Goddess of the Night!" She raises both arms and glares at Sol as the others have finally all caught up to him.
-----"Sorry, Dev, but my soul's already committed." Sol calls out, before yelling out a war cry. He charges directly towards Devlin, uncaring of what plans she may have prepared.
-----Rinda quickly moves past behind Sarah and says, "Spread out!" Romney and Abram then take up positions on each side of the young mage.
-----Panting after running to keep up with Sol, Sarah doesn't have the breath to utter any sharp witticisms. She merely points at one of the twenty people standing in the cavern.
-----Before she can begin her spell, two bolts of magic energy fire across the cavern from the dark wizard and slam into her body. Romney and Abram cry in surprise, as they didn�t see it coming in time. The spell literally drops the young mage to her knees and it is apparent, Sarah is hurt!
-----Both guards stand in front of her trying to assist her up.
-----Without saying a word Raven readies his bow and starts firing at the evil wizard. The first arrow he looses flies truer than any shot he had taken before in his life. The missile strikes the wizard dead on in the gut. The second missile strikes the dark one in the upper thigh. The dark one fades a bit back from the light of the braziers.
-----Sol by this time has gained the altar and leaps up on the low rise of rock facing Devlin and her lower priest. As the young warrior raises his blade and swings at the evil priestess, the lesser priest shouts the word, "Die!" at Sol as he thrusts one of those accursed black disks in his face. In the breath of an instant, Sol�s blade hits Devlin, making the High Priestess�s face even whiter with shock. She screams as the sword chops into her side.
-----But then, the heroic body of the triumphant warrior suddenly slumps across the altar. His sword clangs noisily to the floor. In a sight that tears at the hearts of his closest companions, Sol�s body begins to slip down the front of the altar and on down limply to the rocky floor. He lies there motionless nearly swallowed by the shadows.
-----Rinda�s voice is heard next intoning, "By the Great Hunter, the prey shall be held!" toward the altar. Suddenly a groan of frustration and loss escapes the Huntress as the spell apparently has no effect. She quickly whispers, "Sol . . ."
-----Then Devlin still reeling and angered by the pain, screams at her priest and the followers along the walls. "Bring the blasphemer to me! I shall raise his dead carcass!" She points down at where Sol lies.
-----Looking at the remainder of the adventurers across the cave, she commands in her shrieking tone, "Kill them! Kill them all!"
-----Raven�s eyes flash in savage rage and a blood lust. Raven turns towards Devlin, "I'll be doing the killing here."
-----"Sol!" Sarah cries out in despair, seeing the young man fall. For the briefest of seconds tears can be seen on her cheeks. Before she is even on her feet again, she points her hand at Devlin with the intention of blasting her with two bolts of magical energy.
-----Raven says to Sarah, "He'll be okay. He has to be. He's just knocked out." Raven seems to be saying not only to Sarah, but also to himself.
-----Raven yells to the guards, "Just don't stand there kill them. If you got bows use 'em."
-----Raven turns to fire at Devlin just as Romney yells to Abram to cover Sarah. The guard turns to more or less follow Sol�s path toward the altar.
-----Suddenly, without warning, a huge mass of webbing springs into being covering the opening of the tunnel behind the adventurers. Within the sticky mass, Raven, Sarah, Romney and Abram are caught fast! Rinda from where she was to one side of Raven avoided the huge web spell and prepares to shoot her bow.
-----As she works to notch an arrow, across the cavern Devlin prepares a spell of her own holding up a piece of metal with her own horrid black disk.
