Nowhere to Lay My Head

It started as a flicker,
An innocent spark in the night.
Asleep in my bed,
Oblivious.

It catches quickly,
Flames leaping,
Burning down hopes and dreams.

Smoke rises,
Filling the air.
Snatched from my dreams,
Waking up to a nightmare.

Before too long,
My world crashes down.
As I stand outside,
No one is around.

Flames of rage engulf my home.
Must find another,
Or be left to roam.
