Lip of the Grave
Standing at the lip of the grave,
Forgotten to the realm of the living.
I now witness the affairs of Earth,
Though Im invisible
I watch as Im mourned.
The ones I loved will never know how I truly left them,
What condition I was in
As Im rising off of the Earth,
I am also falling into it.
Im now trapped within my own heaven;
A place where all desires are granted,
Except for those of life.
The precious Earth that surrounds me holds me close,
For it is the new home of my now lifeless body.
Yet Im right there beside you,
With you trying to reach out to me.
Im standing where I once stood,
Before my end had come too soon
We stood there in sweet dark solitude.
Inching forward to the lip of the grave,
You placed flowers and left,
Yet youre the one reason I feel safe |
