Ever since its inception, mechanical has been one of the most sought after branch of the institute. The department is fortunate to have a highly qualified and learned faculty, and a motivated students body. The department takes pride to inform that ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) has started a Student Chapter in our institute.

1. MACHINE TOOL OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
This branch lays emphasis on the industrial process. This course equips the students with knowledge and skills in the field of machine tools and its application in industry.
2. FABRICTION WELDING AND SHEET METAL TECHNOLOGY
This field is devoted to sheet metal and fabrication. The course gives the student a firm foundation in sheet metal and the know how of applying the various welding techniques used in the industry.
3. REFRIGERATION AND AIR-CONDITIONING
With rapid industrialization and rise in standard of living, RAC is crucial for maintaining conducive working and living conditions.
The curriculum is designed to meet the ever-changing needs of the mechanical industry. This, in turn, requires the students not only to have excellent knowledge of nut just their core subjects, but also a good understanding of the ever-changing needs of the industry. The department is proud to possess some of the most equipped labs and workshops.
In tune with the long-standing tradition of YMCAIE, the department of Mechanical Engg. has the primary objective of producing quality engineers. To achieve the same, strong emphasis is laid on the fundamentals of mechanical science and at the same time, the students undergo rigorous practical training in the advanced workshops, which are perhaps the best-equipped training workshops in the state.
The syllabus is prepared by the experts from various industries and faculty from reputed institutes of national status. It is diverse and provides the would be engineers an insight into the latest technologies.
