Chapter 7 – Kano Disqualified
As Kano continued to beat the living hell out of Sonya with a couple of vicious kicks, Shang Tsung called the first round in Kano’s favor. Shang waited until Sonya got to her feet and Shang had the match continue. An agonizing five minutes went by and Sonya was barely able to stand on her own. A few bystanders left the fight to go on elsewhere because of the no action.
Sonya was up and dazed. Shang started the match again. Kano decided to play with her past a little bit.
“What’s wrong? Don’t want to fight me, eh?” Kano gloated.
“I will find someway to kill you.” Sonya said under her breath.
“Like I found someway to kill your poor poor defenseless boy toy.” Kano said
Sonya gave him a stern look as if to say ‘don’t go there’.
“or the someway I found to get out of the predicament that you and your partner got me into.” Kano added.
Sonya’s face rippled with hatred. Kano walked a little closer to her as he thought she wouldn’t do anything to him. He was dead wrong. Sonya then wailed into his face with a bouncing blow. Kano hit the ground very hard. Kano then pulled something from the side of his boot and when Sonya came near, he gave a quick swipe. He had pulled out the knife that murdered her partner. She didn’t even noticed that her arm had been cut. Shang Tsung saw this and stood up.
“This match is over. Kano you are disqualified. No earthly weapons are allowed in battle. You lost. Sonya wins.” Shang Tsung said.
Just as Kano was distracted by Shang Tsung, Sonya kicked Kano aside the face. Kano didn’t expect it and was knocked completely out.
Sonya was quite proud of herself that she defeated Kano in a legal way but she wasn’t that satisfied. She actually was hoping to kill him. She beat him nonetheless and she was happy to get that final kick in to put him out. She now had new confidence in her that she could do it again. She decided to find Liu and Johnny for the great news.
At the same time, Shang Tsung’s minions picked up Kano’s body and threw it on the boat carrying the rest of the dead bodies. An hour later, Kano awoke to find a dead body next to him. For some reason all the bodies were white skinned. Kano didn’t know this but Shang Tsung was actually stealing the souls of everyone that he felt like. The fighters that left the island and that forfeited their right to fight had their souls stolen as well. Kano got off the boat without anyone noticing. He really didn’t want to see anyone else but Sonya. So he sat out to find her.
