BRIEF HIATUS

Wow I haven't been up in here for like a month, pretty much. Well, hopefully this explains it:

4 PAPERS IN 4 DAYS!!!

Have you ever done that before? And i'm not talking about no short mini papers either. I'm talking about four 5-7 page essays nearly every single day! Yes, It may be my fault for procrastinating and putting it all off 'til the last second but STILL!!!! I finished every paper at 5 or 7 in the morning! I barely slept! And I learned something new, if you ever wanna catch a cold, that's the way to do it! Sleeping at 7 am everyday...trust me, it works! Here's my schedule for the past week:
Monday: 7-10 page essay
Tuesday: 5-7 page essay
Wednesday: 700 word essay
Thursday: 7-10 page essay
Friday: Celebrated the end of the essay overload! Work + went to see the love of my life. I was excited, but ended up sleeping all day
Saturday:Work + went gay clubbin' at The Abbey + Ultra Suede in Hollywood
Sunday: REST + SLEEP! AT LAST!!!!! I missed the American Music Awards though. =/ Kind of a bummer. I saw some parts and Beyonce killed it! :) However, I can't believe the amazing, shocking surprise guest was JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE?!! I see him like everyday on t.v.! I luv him but gosh...really?

And worst of all my bf is SICK!!! :( He was listening to THE HIVES at 4 in the morning 'cause he couldn't sleep. :( AWW POOR BABY! Well, I'll blog again soon and I want to update pictures 'cause my baby is going to buy me a Canon camera soon! WOOT! I heard from EVERYBODY that Canon cameras were the best. Was gonna get the latest sony 'cause of its thinness and style but my friend had one and if you care about picture quality, DON'T GET IT! EVERYTHING TURNED OUT ORANGE! ECK!

And like Paris Hilton says, in her laughable reality show (that I watch =X), TTYN!

XOXO

NOV. 4 ELECTION/PROP. RESULTS

Well the results are in...Obama won!
I'm not one to publicly discuss politics usually but this year's presidential candidates and propositions sparked so many individual arguments and I just feel the need to write about it. Although I'm not going to blatantly and argumentatively express my views, I'll throw out a few opinions here and there. I'm not close-minded so I'm willing to accept all views so feel free to write back whether you agree/disagree with me. Just be respectful: I've noticed incidences where expressing one's political views just stirs up trouble. I'll be as polite as possible.

But anyway, no propositions this year really irked me except the people that were FOR farm animal cruelty in Prop. 2. I'd be willing to pay a little more for eggs in hopes of having the animals run free for a while.

Another big one was Prop. 4. I honestly don't like the idea of asking your parents' permission for abortion because if it was me, my parents would probably make me keep a baby at the age of 14, against my will. I'm sorry but I'd rather not have a baby than have one and watch it live a horrible life. Insufficient funds, a busy, hectic schedule, and the lack of maturity are great reasons alone for having an abortion. It's the girl's body, let her deal with it; not her parent's. Some people aren't even on good terms with their parents.

Now of course I didn't forget the most controversial proposition, Prop. 8! I think everyone deserves a right to happiness, whatever that may be. Who are we to stop anyone from getting married and starting a future together? When I was driving around my neighborhood, I saw one of the most clever signs held by a NO ON 8 activist, it said, "We Didn't Vote On Your Marriage!" Short and sweet and to the point. It's kind of sad that the prop. passed. I feel bad for all the discouraged gay couples who feel like they've lost power. All that work into campaigning and it passed after all. Oh well...=/

One other thing I noticed from watching the election and looking at online photos was that for a long time, it seemed that racism and discrimination were quiet and shoved under the rug. No one openly discussed it and everyone seemed to get along. Racism? So ancient, right? WRONG!
Now that we have a person of color running for President, and throw in Prop. 8, it seems that all of a sudden, our country is divided once again. Now I see the same things in history repeating itself. Nearly all Black people voted for Obama, including minorities, and mostly White people voted for McCain. It's kind of shock to see the world so divided. Prop. 8 passing shows again how limited our freedom can be. This isn't a 100% free world. Now with all these rumors of Obama assassinators, I feel really scared. Scared that the existence of white supremacists is still alive and thriving. Google: Obama Assassinators and you'll see what I mean.

Something I want to add: I know we let our beliefs get the best of us, but please don't throw away friends because of this election. I know some of you may laugh but I know that this is possible and I've seen it happen. Please just realize that two people can have differences and still get along. Just don't discuss it if it's going to make you fight. My bf and I have major conflicting beliefs, yet we can argue, shrug it off and talk about other topics. Kinda like Arnold schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. =P

P.S. I found this comment from a website. Just wanted to post it and see what you all think. NOTE: THIS IS NOT WRITTEN BY ME: IT'S A COMMENT I FOUND!

"single minded liberals... just take defeat and LET IT GO. Obviously the majority of people have spoken, so move on. go raise money to prove the "theory" that homosexuality is in the genes or whatever other nonsense you are all trying to prove. Until you do that. STOP COMPLAINING! THEY LOST! "

WHY DO GIRLS GO HEAD OVER HEELS CRAZY OVER GUYS?

I was having a discussion with my roommate Jenny and you know something...why are girls so into guys? They jump through fucking hoops trying to get a guy's attention and the probability is: HE DOESN'T EVEN NOTICE! This is a message for all you girls out there: If a guy is not that into you, get over it and tell yourself: Guys suck, they're dumb, and why are you going after someone who's going to degrade you like that? For girls out there that have amazing boyfriends but want something different? Think again. Appreciate what you have if it's good. Don't think you can find something better because I know we all like to dream and believe we'll find Mr. Right but this is reality and chances are: He's just not that into you!

I'm so lucky to have someone like Carlo and I never take him for granted. I know how lucky I am. He's a rare jewel. I would be stupid to leave someone like him and think I could do better. That would be pulling a Jessica Simpson!

No offense to all the guys reading this but come on, you know it's kind of true. lol ;)

I sware if I wasn't with Carlo, i'd go for girls.

NO OFFENSE BUT...

I was browsing around and saw that people were creating lists of unpopular opinions. The idea was sparked from this forum topic at MallVibes. Here's my list:

- I liked Paris Hilton's album (although I'm not a fan of hers)
- Simon Cowell is so cool
- i don't see what's so great about Iron Man. I liked Dark Knight more
- i actually like running. If I had people to go with, I'd go more
- Wearing fur is so nasty and ugly
- Even when Britney Spears was trashy...I still thought she was pretty hot, haha
- I'm team Kristin Cavalleri. I don't know why they even have a show for Lauren. (doesn't mean I don't watch it though ;)
- hot dogs disgust me most of the time (although I love corn dogs; go figure!) =/
- I luv uggs!
- I really dislike The Gap
- I don't have the iPhone and I don't want it
- I LOVE the Disney Channel
- I have a high tolerance for vain people
- I actually think Audrina from the Hills is hot
- I really really enjoy watching scary movies
- Tila Tequila isn't that pretty to me
- Sometimes, I think Kim Kardashian's butt is a little too big. Now, JLo's I like.
- I don't think Jessica Biel, Scarlett Johannsen, Salma Hayek, Sarah Jessica Parker and Rihanna are that pretty. They're hot though.
- I saw a post from someone on the forum and it's probably the most intelligent, most mature thing I've read in a while. "Bunchofbananas" said, "People are too concerned with how others look, i think as long as you are comfortable, confident and happy with yourself and your image, it shouldn't matter what others are wearing."

Published in 13 Minutes Magazine and MTV Show

First of all, I picked up 3 issues of the new 13 Minutes Magazine. I'm published in there 4 times! OMG GO GET IT! =D

Also, I applied to be on a t.v. show for MTV like 3-4 months ago with my picture and information and they contacted me back and they want me to be on the show. I can't believe it! I'm a little nervous but I'm trying to reach my best friend to see if she wants to go on it with me! *fingers crossed* if it doesn't work out, ehh...there'll always be a next time. So whatever!

P.S. Later, I'll be published on the actual 13 Minutes website for my Halloween costume picks. Check it out later

Literary Journalism: Crime and Consequences

Today via email, I received praise on my scene from my Journalism professor, Celeste Fremon. Usually professors like my ideas but I've never gotten a comment like this:

As for my notes, I had one or two tiny line edits, but mostly I really, really liked the scene. I loved Michelle as a character, and the phone dialogue that shows her mounting alarm is excellent. Also the little bit of interior monologue works; you suggest her thoughts without overdoing it. The way you laid out the specifics of her situation really set us, as readers, up to be horrified right along with her. Really good work. (And I've withdrawn all my objections to the notion of equally-weighted twinned narratives.) I'm simply looking forward to the next scene. I think you're going to have a real winner with this story!

[It's a bit confusing because you would've had to read my piece.] Like many other writers, I have way too many insecurities about my writing but Celeste boosted my confidence which I truly appreciate. It's great to hear compliments on my work from someone who's achieved so much and who's even worked for L.A. Times. Great way to start off my day! :)

GUESS WHO'S BACK?!!

If you don't know me, basically, I had a website for a few years and I went by "Hunni," my alias. I suddenly stopped because I just got sick of everything and I had so much to focus on like attending a university and trying to get good grades.
I've been yearning for a new website for a loooong time so I'm really happy and excited! I'll have some more things in the menu box and a few pics up. I put this crap up together in less than a day so please cut me some slack. =P

Anyway, I Just wanted to blog really quickly and say HI to everybody I haven't talked to in a while!

P.S. I got a 2nd earring hole today at Claire's. I was a little nervous but it didn't hurt AT ALL! I've been wanting them since like 8th grade, but it's never to late to fulfill your hopes and dreams right? =)

Tomorrow, I'm going to the Runway Hits Fashion Show in Downtown, L.A. for my internship. It's going to be a lot of fun, I got a free Senna lip plumper, Urban Decay eye shimmer, and a BananaAn gold flower ring just for the event.

P.S. below are 3 really long ass blogs just to fill you in on what I've been up to; if you're curious. And just for me to remember! Well I'm off to do homework!

8.21.08

THIS IS GOING TO BE RANDOM AS HELL...I HAVEN'T BLOGGED IN A LOOOOONG TIME. nearly 3 years, in fact. I just realized that there have been so many amazing times in my life ever since I started attending my university in 2007, like having my first job at Bella Bella salon as an assistant/receptionist, meeting such inspiring people who have changed my life, taking amazing classes where I've gained so much and also, for my first internship which I will never forget and I am so grateful for. I don't think I'll ever meet a better handful of people.

So I wanted to quickly jot down some things that have been going on. On August 5th, I attended ABDC which is my favorite show. On August 12th, the following Tuesday, I re-attended the same green room where I met all the judges. I dressed up this time just a little bit so I could get some better pictures. (Turns out my original pictures came out better. Go figure. ) I didn't get to talk to Lil Mama or J.C. this time since the press was snatching people left and right for interviews. They both didn't notice me this time. :(

My internship crew got to talk to Shane Sparks who was really nice and did a great interview; provided us with a lot of detailed info. (He's my favorite judge in the sense that we always have similar critiques) The interview was quickly interrupted because MTV needed to talk to Shane and they deemed it was urgent. They kept trying to get to him but had to impatiently watch as we quickly wrapped up the interview. Right when he finished the interview, instead of heading over to MTV, Shane walks straight up to me, points and says, "Let's take a picture." Another OMG moment!! A celeb asked ME to take a picture with THEM?!! I know it seems I get starstruck easily but in the moment, I don't even show it. It's so strange.

It's like this one time my roommate tried to scare me by standing outside my window and when I saw her, my heart nearly stopped but all I was able to utter was a monotonous "Oh crap, that scared me." She was obviously disappointed, since that wasn't the reaction she expected.

[RANDOM] Gosh, my first macbook was defective after 4 days, I had to bring it in and this nice guy named Timmy got me a new one! which they rarely do. but the boss was really nice. No thanks to Jason, who fuckin gave me the defective one in the first place. The boss said he should've known because it was in the defective pile. Nice going dude! Not to mention, he's dropped it and he's been rude to me. He's lucky i'm nice and didn't report his ass. ...bleh....i'm too nice for my own good.

anyway, this new macbook is killing me with how cool it is. It's so fast...everything is amazing. I'm sorry I have betrayed you, PC, but I no longer need your services. :( Did I mention it came with a free iPod Touch? GEEZ LOUIZE! I went to the school to buy a keyboard protector, screen protector, and an iPod case. The guy who worked there, whom I've met once or twice, gave me a 30% discount. Instead of $52, it was $36. RAD!

[RANDOM] Uh...oh yah I got adobe photoshop today so I'll be working on a layout soon.

[RANDOM] I've been video chatting with people, esp. my boyfriend. It's been awesome.

[RANDOM] I've finally tried my salon's shampoo. No joke. This shit works. My hair's never been softer.

Hmm...so much to say. It's like I don't even want to start. Maybe another time! :) BYE!

XOXO

8.5.08

Okay I need to write this down before I forget every single detail. Today was one of the best days of my life. Okay, everybody knows that I am obsessed with America's Best Dance Crew. I live for that show; I seriously try to watch every single rerun. Well for my internship today with 13minutesmag.com, we were able to get press passes to get into the green room at the show in Burbank.

So I don't get ready or anything, not expecting much. We arrived at about 5 pm and waited till bout 7 or so and then the judges started coming in one by one. The host, Layla (sp?) came in and was really cute and petite and did all these interviews. She was very professional and friendly. She made sure all the cameras had the right angles and flash so she could look her best. :) She was really cute and I got my first picture with her!

Afterwards, more people started coming in and I'm in the front row so I get direct access to speaking with them. J.C. Chasez comes in and we literally catch each other's eyes several times. I couldn't believe an Nsync member, who I use to have a crush on, was right in front of me. Not only that, he came to me, shook my hand, and said "hi sweety!" Then I asked him if I could hug him in a picture and he said "of course!" OMGGGG! He's so nice. It was like seriously a dream. Then, Mario Lopez came in, Shane Sparks, Lil Mama, and Tila Tequila. Lil Mama was soooo cute and she grabbed my arm and squeezed it, as if I was a longtime friend or something. She was so freaking hyper and when I asked her for a picture, she gave me a "Oh fa sho, fa sho!" '

Mario Lopez seemed really bitter and when we asked him for a picture, he groaned. I was really surprised because I've heard he was really nice. Oh well...

Shane sparks was okay but I didn't get to see him and I only saw Tila Tequila for like a few minutes and she scattered off as soon as she could get a chance. We got to see the entire show via digital t.v. and we even got free, healthy food; croissant sandwiches, carrot/celery sticks, and pita bread with hummus. I loved the entire experience. I heard bad things about others shows like Tyra Bank's show and how everything is scripted; even her thoughts on things. But this show was even more exciting than watching it on T.V. and they filmed almost all the way without making mistakes. That really impressed me. O M G! I just can't believe I was blessed with an experience like this and hopefully I'm going again next week for the finale. I better dress up this time and do my hair/makeup cuz the pics came out really bad this time. Oh well. I'll still post them up but geezus, I wish I looked a little less like shit.

P.S. Fanny Pak was the best and it took me this long to realize that they deserve to win. (We're already at the top 3) Them losing to Super Crew actually disappointed me and I use to be a hardcore Super Crew fan. I really think it sucks that they didn't get to win because they're creativity alone is enough to win the title. I definitely give all the dancers props though for dancing without messing up and having to redo it. It was really an exciting day. :)

This is such a great week. First for my bday on Sunday, my wonderful family took me to get a mac laptop with a free ipod touch and now this happens? BEST WEEK EVER!!!

I just feel so blessed with all the internships Ive been getting. First the UCLA internship, then the 13 Minutes fashion/model one and I also got accepted into a new school magazine called Pop. Now MTV called me back? The dream corporation Ive been dying to work for? Man, things are getting better and better. I know I havent quite gotten the internship yet, I mean, it was just a phone call about setting up an interview. But hey, cant a girl dream? *sigh*

Wow, this is my first weblog in years. I remember when I had my own personal camgirl websitethat ended like in early 2005. Ive grown so much since then. I honestly regret not updating the website and not keeping a diary but Ive been so busy focusing on my major at UCI. I wish I could trackback and write about all Ive been through. I sure would love to remember the best days of my life! Well, it's never too late to start.
