I wanted to create a website that was easy to use and navigate for everyone. When people need a vet it can either be a routine checkup or something more serious and the last thing anyone wants is to wade through a bunhc of noise on a website just to find the phone number, address, and hours of operation. In order to make sure I made this possible I made everything flow smoothly and not take forever to load with lots of images or videos.
I went with the hierarchal structure for this website since it's the best way to make a seamless website that you can navigate without having to make a bunch of navigation selections. I made everything uniform throughout so the user never thought they were suddenly on a different webpage as well as making sure the nav bar highlighted where they were currently. I kept a somewhat bright color scheme with a inviting background so the user didn't get overwhelmed or develop a headache from all the colors. This reduces eye strain and creates a more friendly user experience overall.
I'd really like to implement a functional java scripted form page for making appointments. Something that at least takes the users information, then inserts that info into a premade form so all the general info is taken in easily then emailed to the secretary along with a confirmation email automatically generated for the user. That seems like a really useful improvement and possibly a new webpage for when you drop your dog off for kennel services. Have some cameras live stream from the play area maybe. An area where customers can give reviews or upload pictures of their animals could be cool as well.
