Vinny
Originally from a small coastal town in New Jersey, Vinny grew up with deep Italian family roots. This led him to the kitchen at an early age, and he fell in love with cooking. He attended culinary school in New York City and opened up his first restaurant more than thirty years ago. Vinny and his wife Maria moved to the great state of Louisiana five years ago to be closer to his daughter and her growing family. Vinny owns and operates two restaurants out of New Orleans, but about two years ago he broadened his horizons when he started his first food truck, Vinny’s Homestyle Italian. Check the calendar page to see when and where you can find Vinny's food trucks!
Vinny's Homestyle Italian
Vinny opened his Italian food truck in November of 2016 when he saw how successful the mobile food trend had become. He decided on serving Italian food because it is what he is best at and best known for. Find profitable locations was tough in the beginning, but eventually Vinny had customers waiting in line for the truck to open in his regular serving spots. The cooks that run his Italian food truck also work in his restaurants around New Orleans so the food is just as amazing as if you were there! Vinny now takes his trucks all the way to Baton Rouge certain days of the week to serve the students at LSU, and the citizens who work in the downtown area.
Vinny's Cajun Cuisine
After a successful year with Vinny’s Homestyle Italian it was time to open a second truck and give the people of Louisiana what they really wanted. Ever since Vinny first moved to the pelican state he was fascinated by their food. Such unique ingredients and bold flavors were unlike anything he had ever seen! He immediately began researching the food and over time he has perfected some of the staple hits that people from all over the country flock here to eat. This is why Vinny decided to open a Cajun food inspired truck. Though his customers love his authentic Italian food, they also love to eat delicious crawfish fluffy beignets, so his Cajun tucks had been doing incredibly well since it’s opening!
Vinny's Gourmet Chinese
Vinny’s recent trip to Asia has inspired him to open a food truck dedicated to some of the best food on Earth. That’s right – a Chinese food truck! Vinny’s Gourmet Chinese truck has been open for about three months and it has been received well in both the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas. He mixes his Italian chef training with some techniques he learned on his trip to Asia to produce some amazing renditions of classic Chinese dishes that us Americans are used to seeing. This is definitely a truck worth checking out if you see it open around town!
