This week coming up (December 21) is our last week before Christmas.
Please feel free to bring a treat, homemade or otherwise. Games will start
at 7, as usual, but feel free to come earlier.
We are indeed allowed to play on New Year's Eve, and the Masonic Lodge
is giving us the place for free! As we did last year, we plan to take a
collection in a hat for the caretakers who work late nights and will be
working New Year's Eve.

The first ever Vancouver vs. Seattle challenge was a rousing success,
drawing 61 competitors to the excellent facilities at St. Joseph's
hospital in Bellingham, WA. In the end, the Seattle club finished on top,
winning 104.5-89.5. Thanks go out to Val and Lam for organizing the
tournament, Dana for helping with data entry, and Erika for creating the
cool trophy. And congratulations to the Seattle players for their superb
play to win the title.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Today marks not only the start
of a new year, but of a new word list: the new edition of the Official
Tournament and Club Word List will now be used to settle all challenges at
our club's games (its use in tournaments will start March 1st). Check out
the changes
to the OSPD on the NSA
website, as well as the updated word lists on this
