2nd of June 2001

Colditz Society meeting at Phillips in London. Guest speaker is B.D.S.(skelly) Ginn(91).
Skelly was captured in June 1940.? he was the twenty-second escaper out of the Eichstätt tunnel and the most senior British officer in the attempt.
Skelly arrived in Colditz in June 1943. He is the most senior Army rank surviving from Colditz and was the only REME officer in Colditz.
He gives a very interesting talk.
Members of the Colditz Association have also turned up....Kenneth Lockwood,Alec Ross,John Davies.
Again a splendid afternoon thanks to the work of Michael Booker,David Ray and Patrick Gale.

The afternoon goes too quick and we end the meeting with watching a few very interesting videos that David Ray has brought along.
Then it is to the nearby pub for a "swiftie" where I have a chat with Anthony Anderson, son of Major W.F.Anderson MBE MC Royal Engineers.
Anthony set up a great web site."Colditz-gateway to Saxony-Everyday life in Oflag IV C" that everybody knows by now.

John Davies,Kenneth Lockwood,Alec Ross and Skelly Ginn..don't worry about the funny boy in the back.

.it's only me....
