1) Prerna - The Linux Cluster
Prerna is a dreamchild of Abhinav Dhall and myself. We tested various parallel computing technologies. Various processing oriented testing techniques were used. In addition, we managed the network that consists of more than 60 odd computers. The project was highly acclaimed and was covered by DIGIT magazine, India. Also, the interview was published in The Tribune, aired on AIR and another interview was conducted by Sahara Samay.
The technologies used were OpenMosix, PVM plus few other were tested.
2) Diskless Workstations
Diskless Workstations are group of computers in a network which don't have their own disks and boot from image lying on other system. This project was done to provide network access to 12 computers in the library of a school. Diskless workstations helps in reducing hardware cost and were quiet instrumental in helping young children learn Linux.
The network was DHCP configured and PXE boot
enabled.
3) Beta Testing
Beta Testing is a testing stage performed by real users and check softwares for vulnerabilities and faults. This can be done in two ways.
One by simple checking for errors in between various modules. Another one is to check the software thru' Reverse Engineering process and check software for loopholes and insecurities. The software tested includes East Tec Eraser 2004, Acronis Privacy Expert Suite, East Tec for Networks 2005 etc.
The technology used were Reverse Engineering and other testing techniques.
4) Line Editor
A simple line editor was created in C/C++. This line editor has features of file creation, deletion, updation, modification. Other features were copying and moving data in one file to other.
5) Student Internal Calculator
This software was created to calculate Internal Assessment of students. This software was wholly created in C/C++. The different parameters for calculating assessment were considered.
6) Awesome Snakes
Awesome Snakes is a game similar to one we often play on mobile phones or game pads. In this a snake moves in a small area. When it touches the wall, game ends. The EXE of game has been included on games page. The game was created using Visual Basic.
