Hi, my name is Nicholas Wendt.� I was born on July 21, 1996 -- so I'm just a little kid.� That's my picture below.� I'm the one wearing shades.

I have a rare genetic condition called Severe Combined Immune Deficiency (SCID), also known as the "Bubble Boy" Disease. � That means I was born without an immune system.� Right now , I can't have contact with too many people, especially kids.

I'm doing really well since my bone marrow transplant in April 1997.� Someday soon I'll be well enough to play with other children and go to school.

Until then, I rely on the company of friends from television, books and videos. I designed this web site (with some help from grownups) so you could meet my friends----and me.� Just click on your favorite characters, and have fun!
