Hello. I'm Eric Valdez,
a Graphic Design and Media Arts Major located in central Texas.
I am a former medical assistant, phlebotomist, and apheresis technician. My medical career involved a retirement facility, lymphedema clinic, and the regional blood bank. I started working at the retirement facility known as New Forest Estates as entry level administration while attending Everest Institute. From there I interned at the Lymphedema MD clinic in San Antonio, TX. Once my internship came to an end I was hired at South Texas Blood and Tissue Center. Upon completion of my phlebotomy training they offered to train me in apheresis blood collection which was reserved for senior technicians.
After leaving the medical world I took some time selling cars at a dealership before heading back to further my education. At this point I was raising my step son and had my daughter on the way. This meant I needed to stay home to take care of my children. I graduated Southern New Hampshire University in 2018 with an Associates of Liberal Arts, and I'm scheduled to graduate in the beginning of 2020 with my Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and Media Arts.
