Radium Hot Springs

This is the road from the town to the Hot Springs.

The Springs have attracted outside visitors sinne before they were rebuilt in 1914.

Before that they were enjoyed by the local people who bathed in rocky pools.

Now the Spring empties into a modern, chlorinated pool.

There are actually two pools, a cooler one that is more like a regular swimming pool and an irregular shaped pool that had underwater ledges to stretch out out and enjoy the sun and the hot water.

Not a good picture, I'm afraid, but I couldn't help capturing this.

The original hangs in the pool at the Hot Springs. I reckon if most of the bathers, including me, saw an 80cm snake, everyone would hear about it loud and clear!

I like the bit about checking to see that it has eyes which earthworms do not have...
