We are on the Gold Rush Trail, one of them anyway, at 100 Mile House, in the centre of BC.

This is one of the Mail Coaches, used up to 1917, when it took days to cover what we consider an afternoon outing by car.

The interior of BC is pleasant but it is always a thrill to see mountains loom up on the horizon.

The red line on the left side of this valley view is one of the immensely long trains that cross Canada.

After taking the picture above, I looked down.

There is a lot of maintenance to do in these areas as hard rock can give way to this sort of crumbly soil/rock mixture that has washed out and is creating its own ravine, taking the car park with it.

This was a feature of a marvellous little restaurant en route. The plates below the head are full size dinner plates.
