Another beautiful day. We are in Terrace Bay where we have stayed before. We'll be here for two nights. Terrace Bay is a small town which is going through hard times because of disputes and the possibility of closure of the local wood pulp mill, which is a major local employer. Map

This is the Terrace Bay beach on Lake Superior. The lake is calm and the little roadside park is full of huge butterflies, which we have been seeing all the way around the lakes.

The island is Slate Island, deserted except for a herd of woodland caribou

We enjoyed walking along the beach but we wish we had been able to follow the hiking trail up beside the waterfall shown here - next time!

Today is Pentecost, Whitsunday. We are celebrating with the Terrace Bay Community Church, a small mixed community with no minister. I think this must have been closer to the very first Pentecost in Acts. We are so grateful to have been part of this worship community today.

This evening we went up the hill to the Chinese buffet for supper. We were here before and have been looking forward to coming back.
