Another beautiful day. We are going to head North around Lake Superior to spend a couple of nights in Terrace Bay where we have stayed before. Map

This is Batchewana Bay on Lake Superior. We have stopped for lunch and a stroll along the beach. The air is beautiful, the lake is calm and the little roadside park is full of huge butterflies.

Later we stopped at Algoma Bay lookout. The road climbs high above the lake and the views are amazing.

More about moose on Canadian roads

Not long after this, we were coming up a hill and round a corner to find a young moose trying to cross the road. You have to be very careful. Moose are so big and tall that death by collision with a moose is a statistic in Canada. We slowed down and he ran back into the bush.

We made a point of visiting one of our favourite monuments, the giant Wawa goose sculpture.

This is the last part of today, the road North from Wawa. Finally we arrive in Terrace Bay, one of our favourite Lake Superior communities. We are planning to spend Sunday in Terrace Bay.
