How to start learning HTML.

Now doing this really all depends on where you are putting your website. We are going to start you off with yahoo website. First you will have to sign up for a user name with a password for your ID account. If you don't have one already, just to to: Yahoo.com or if your located in canada, then the link would be Yahoo.ca.

Please read the directions on the page on how you can sign up and follow the instructions.

Once you have an account with yahoo, then we can start helping you out.

Your first page will always be called, "index.html". It's the rules of the web that your first page be called that or you will not see your page show up.

Now that you have signed up, you can search or go to Geocities and follow the instruction on their page, or you can do your own page and make it as fansy as you would like it to be.

I you want to do your own pages, then you will need a webpage program to make your pages. To do this you can either use Frontpage which comes with Microsoft office 2000/01/02/03. If you don't have that or don't want to use that, you can alway download a demo from macromedia home page, a program called dreamweaver. Now they give you lessons if you sign up for their news letter and they send you all sorts of neat news and advise. I really recommend them because I found them to be very usefull for our site.

On geocities they have a file manager that will help you with uploading your files, but make sure you put the files and folders that you have in the exact files and folders that you have on your computer or your webpages won't look like you want them too............missing pictures, etc.
