There were two proposals presented to the property owners.
Proposal #1 - Assessment increase of $33 per owner effective May 1, 2009.
Proposal #2 - Allow camping lot owners to build permanent dwellings on their lots within the current restrictions.
Both proposals passed.
Proposal #1 passed 263 to 191
Proposal #2 passed 367 to 87
There were 303 votes mailed in and 151 votes present in person or by proxy.
Two board positions were open this year. There were six candidates running for the positions. Here are the results:
Mary (Susan) Asher - 171 votes - 25.41%
Virgil Aborn - 158 votes - 23.48%
Ron Miller - 107 votes - 15.90%
Jerry Reed - 95 votes - 14.12%
Harold Hoff II - 81 votes - 12.04%
Edward Vowels - 61 votes - 9.06%
There were 21 candidate ballots, 19 proposal ballots and 1 proxy ballot declared Invalid, mainly because not all property owners signed the ballot. It was clearly stated in the packet and on the ballots that all owners whose name appears on the deed (including TOD names) MUST sign the ballots for them to valid. This rule has been in place for many years.
Mary (Susan) Asher won the 3 year term and has been placed as Vice President and Secretary. Virgil Aborn won the 2 year term and has remained as President. He is also helping Paul Gary (Director) with Maintenance Supervisor duties.
The TOHPOA office has the in person and by proxy ballots. Our accountant, Larsen & Company in Warsaw, MO, has all mail in ballots for candidates and proposals. If anyone questions the validity of the results for Board of Directors, please contact Larsen & Company at 660-438-4269. He will keep the ballots for 1 year.
