| The new smokebox for SR 630 arrived on 9/13 from TVA's Muscle Shoals assembly shop. Isn't it pretty? |

President >> Robert M. Soule addresses the crowd of 140+ TVRM members and supporters. |
Saturday, September 14 was selected to be the date of TVRM's "Social Extravagana". The weather did not cooperate completely, but all the activites were held. Motor car rides, velocipede rides, and GP7 cab rides were offered before dinner as were recreational events and exhibit car tours. TVRM chefs preparted a great dinner of chicken and pork loin and many members brought a covered dish to the function. A heavy downpour just before dinner caused everyone to make a dash for Grand Junction Station to get under cover. An exclusive Membership Special departed for East Chattanooga around 7:15 pm with 610 in the lead. Once in East Chattanooga, everyone was treated to an extensive shop tour. President Robert M. Soule had some brief comments before a number of interesting door prizes were given away. Departing from East Chattanooga around 9pm, Paul Brock had 610 hooked up just right and played some beautiful "music" on the whistle. This first-of-its-kind event was an outstanding success and may be repeated in the future. Won't you join us? |
