Lawrence Yawa was born in 1968 on the 22 September at a very small town called Idutywa at Nywara location in the Eastern Cape. He grew up there as a herd boy. He attended his elementary education at Mtshotshisa Junior Secondary School, up until he passed standard 7. He was admitted at Colosa Senior Secondary school to do his high school education majoring with Mathematics and Science. During the time he was studying at Colosa he was asked by his parents to register at a nearby High School called Bashee Senior Secondary School where he finished his Matric(school leaving certificate). 

He was then admitted at the University of Transkei doing       L.M Ed. After that Lawrence worked for Metropolitan and later for A.C.A Insurance as a representative, selling life insurance in Umtata (Eastern Cape). In 1996 Lawrence left Umtata for Cape Town to look for new challenges. One week after he got a job at Seravac Fine Chemicals as a chemical processing worker, purifying enzymes from plant and animal tissues. While he was working at Seravac he registered as a student at IMC Business School, doing General Management Programme as part of action learning MBA (Master Degree of Business Administration). At completion, he then registered as a student at Maritime Institute of Southern Africa, doing International Trade and Transport in Shipping. After Lawrence completed his studies in shipping he resigned and work for Entrepreneurial Business School in Bellville as a Marketing Consultant, later on as a Marketing Manager.

Lawrence then left the Business School and joined the army as a part time soldier for seven years. After serving for seven years he left the Army and registered as student at PDR Technical Training College of South Africa, doing paintless dent removal course as the first black student in the country and the whole of Africa.

 After completing the course he was employed by the company called Dent Magic (Cape Town) as a Dent Technician. Lawrence has been also in Scotland doing paintless dent removal. Lawrence also worked for the following Companies: Dent Doctor, Dent pro as a Mater Dent Technician. In 2005 he then registered his own business called Dent Digest S.A. Lawrence is also the founder of the Training Institution called “Dent Digest Training Academy”. He then was invited to help the country in skills development in Gauteng (Midrand) to participate in developing the unit standards in paintless dent removal.

Lawrence has been working as a Marketing Consultant for the Cape Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry for three years.
