Bachelor of Information Science (Hons) Management Information Resource Center

Programme Details

This programme focuses on the management of academic resource centre and library. The programme encompasses Resource Centre Management , ICT (Information and Communication Technology) and Education as its core areas of specialisation. These three fields are offered as major and minor courses in order to prepare and produce highly knowlegeable and skillful information professionals to work in resource centers and academic institutions either in public or private sector. Exposure to hands-on library work are provided through the many facilities available such as the cataloging laboratory, the computerized cataloging laboratory, the experimental library, the reference laboratory and the modern university branch library. Students will be prepared with soft skill to train them to communicate effectively, to conduct smart presentation, and to apply the component of the applications of business knowledge in resource center management. A variety of teaching modes and assessment throughout the duration of the programme. Their theoretical knowledge strengthened with a 1 semester industrial attachment in various libraries throughout the country.


Entry Requirement
Fulfill the General Requirement of the University and any other Special Requirement of the Program.


and Pass SPM/Equivalent with Credit in Bahasa Malaysia and English and Pass Mathematics/ Additional Mathematics including MUET Level 2

Mode Duration
Full time: 2 years - 3 years,
Part time: 4 years - 5 years
