| DWARFOPHILE This band puts in an excellent performance, slapping us about with gret shards of Cybergrind, Death Metal and Noise which come off even more devastating after Count Chopula's more restrained and palatable set. Dwarfophile have been through various line-up changes, and appear here as a one man band. |

| Formede in 2001 as a two piece consisting of Zeek the Plumber on vokills and Gnaldwin taking care of the guitar and drum machine, Dwarfophile has since done one unreleased EP, become a one man band and appeared on the CxAxPx 4 way split album with Necrobestiality, Gross and Amoebic Dysentery, then a subqequent set of songs what appears on this album. First song in is Ruprict Profict, beginning with a riff soon sodomized by harsh keyboard screeches of noisy discord. A slow, sludgy section comes next, with very low vokills, followed by staccatto bursts of drums and downtuned chords, with a second guitar widdling away in the background. High pitched throaty vokills, cyclic blasting and simple grinding riffage rounds off the songs, these punctuated by electronic sounds. The remainder of the set clatters along in a consistent manner. Throughout there are relentless programmmed blasts, buzzsaw riffs and maniacal vokills, with adequate measures of blazing leads, noise, intros and keyboard effects daftness. There's even a bit of bugle blowing on one song. The set does seem to come to a close quite fast, but now without song Rectoid Aereonautical grabbin one's attention. It has a definite experimental Harsh Noise sound, with an entirely inoffensive intro, shitloads of nasty distortion, fuzz and feedback. Dwarfophile has a lot of originality, playing a most eclectic and entertaining form of DIY Grindcore. They do still remind me of some bands however, for instance some riffage reminded me of Spanish sickos Holocausto Canibal and a few scales are tainted with Dismember. The riffs overall do have a bit of a Swedish Death Metal tint to them, with the odd Deathgrind influence here and there. The vokills, which are used sparingly over the course of the songs, sound a bit like lower, most recent Blood vokills versus Intestinal Disgorge type bitchscreams. Some screams have piercing, animalistic qualities, even screeching out a little melody at one point. The overall amusing and playful nature of the songs reminds me of Purulent Spermcanal and Amoebic Dysentery. The songs are well produced, in that you can hear all the instruments well without having to concentrate on hearing any of them, but none of the rawness is sacrificed at all in spite of this. To sum up then, the Dwarfophile side is excellent. It's got all the best elements of one man/DIY Grindcore - intensity, blasting, fun and entertaining daftness, catchy riffage and fucking mental vokills. Though we are treated to adequate amounts of these, Gnaldwin slops them out in moderation, preventing them from losing their overall effect as well as leaving us wanting to hear more Dwarfophile depravity. 5/5 |

| NECROBESTIALITY Seeing as Dave, the sick fuck behind this band, released this album on his label, this part of the split is a definite highlight. Formed in 2001, I've been a fan of this one man Kansas band since the earlier releases and this one of the first Shitgrind bands I got into. This is the band's second appearance on a CxAxPx split release and it doesn't disappoint. Beginning with a shitty intro, Colostomy Casserole is the first song. It has extremely simple riffing which doesn't alter very much over the course of the song but the programmed drums are very varied, thumping forth quite a few different blast patterns. The vokills are totally uncompromising, pitchshifted to fuck Shitgrind spews. It sounds as if he has his head shoved right down into the toilet bowl, with the mic fed through from the pipe outside, inhaling the shitty brown water and chunks of turd as he sings. Can't beat it. As with previous Necrobestiality shits, the material curled off here is uncompromising, sleazy and solidly about solids. The guitar sound is fuzzy as fuck, the riffs being veritably sprayed from the anus of Necrobestiality. Some of them remind me of early Smothered Brothers, only more shit stained. The drum machine is always blasting along merrily, at times set fast enough for the beats to resemble trills. The vokills of course a major factor in the sleaziness, what with their dirty shit eating style. They are at times akin to Abosranie Bogom turd stealer Shiteater's runny baritone, and are occasionally a bit like what Sasha out of Cock And Ball Torture might sound like if he was vomiting shite instead of his usual gore and porn. The coprovokills alternate between ones that inhale the shitwater and ones pitchshifted so low you can actually imagine the diahorrea bubbling from Dave's lips. The production of Necrobestiality is adequate, for Shitgrind. If the guitars were a little bit louder this would be a heavy as fuck, grooving turd. However, a clearer production could risk taking away some of the lo-fi Shitgrind charm, which would spoil the Necrobestiality sound somewhat. The vokills have a good sound, allowing Dave to narrate the tunes from the bowl very effectively. This is certainly the most shite splattered part of the CD. Basic as fuck guitars, a fair bit of throughtfully programmed drumming and excellent vokills. Keep a brown eye open for this Shitgrind behemoth.
