A. Documentation of the Development Process
The main purpose of this website was to showcase my uncle's business. Uncle George has asked me to create a website for him in the past and this class provided me the opportunity to do so. I used HTML and CSS and wrote the code in Sublime Text 3. I laid out a foundation of what I wanted to include in the site and came up with the final draft. I made sure that I reviewed all of my content before I uploaded the site, to make sure that there weren't any errors. I'm pleased to say that my uncle was pretty impressed with my first website design.
B. Defense of the Final Project
For the main design I decided to go with a hierarchical structure theme. I believe that this was the best theme for my site, because it will allow each customer to navigate around the site at their own desire. Since everyone is different, this theme will give them the freedom to choose what they want to look at and not be forced to a certain page that they might not want to view. For all the headers I used Comic Sans MS font and for the body I used Arial font. I made this decision because it was the best fit for my site. Colors, I used Blue for the background to really bring out the page, Black for the body background and White font, to give it a nice pop and they compliment each other. The headers I made Red so it shows on the blue background.
The Home Page will allow the customers to look at what the company offers and gives them a brief description of what to expect when they arrive at the facility.
The Laser Tag page provides pictures of the arena and a video on how the game is played. It also includes the price that is required to play the attraction. A copy of a waiver form is included in the page, which is required to be filled out before play.
The Arcade Page will provide customers with pictures of the games and what types of different arcade games are available. Price varies per game.
The Food and Drink page will provide the customers with a description of the items that are offered on the food menu, as well as the items offered on the drink menu. It will include the price for each item.
The Event Booking page will allow the customers to book a group outing, birthday party or corporate event.
I made sure to include forms, tables, images and videos to make it more appealing and easier for the customer to know what to except when they arrive on location.
C. Opportunities for Improvement and Growth
Like anything else in life there's always room for improvement. I would add a couple of more pages just to include more content and a better description of all that the business has to offer. Also, providing links to the social media sites and adding a FAQ page to answer any questions that the customers may have. Overall I was very happy with my final result and it's always rewarding to see something that you created yourself.
