Tourdates 2009 are ticking in, and there are more, and very interesting places and venues currently being negotiated, among them the first concert in Poland, after 47 years! European Tour 2009
Ronnie Drew - The Last Session - A Fond Farewell includes Ronnie's last recordings from last November - May. The cd will be released in Europe on November 24th, and includes songs like Rainy Night in Soho and September Song.
Ronnie's autobiography, Ronnie, has been finalized by Cliodhna and Phelim Drew, and will be published by Penguin on November 24th. This should make an excellent Christmas gift!
News August 2008:
More than 3000 people attended the funeral of Ronnie Drew August 19th. Barney, John, Paddy Moloney, Eleanor Shanley amongst others provided the music at the ceremony. People flew in to Dublin from all over the world, including Paddy Reilly and Shane MacGowan.
Sad news from Dublin: Ronnie Drew died on Saturday 16th at the age of 73

The Ballad of Ronnie Drew A song has been written by Robert Hunter, Bono, The Edge and Simon Carmody to celebrate Ronnie Drew. Proceeds from the sale of the record will be donated to a cancer charity. The song has already been recorded, with the greatest lineup ever in an Irish studio, U2, Shane MacGowan, Christy Moore, The Dubliners, Paul Brady, Eleanor Shanley, Damien Dempsey, Ronan Keating, Chris DeBurgh, Eleanor McEvoy, Sinead O'Connor, Mary Black, Brian Kennedy, Mick Pyro, Joe Elliot, Mundy, Paddy Casey, Moya Brennan, Andrea Corr, Jerry Fish and Duke Special. The song is intended for release in March. Here's to you, Ronnie Drew!

Ronnie Drew is back! A new two-track cd-s has been released, called At the Tail End. Ronnie also appears on the new Dropkick Murphys album 'The Meanest of Times' where he sings 'Flannigans Ball'. Photos from the recording session. Ronnie will also be performing again soon.
Se�n Cannon and his son James performed several concerts in Norway this summer. More of this to come.

Sad news that Ronnie Drew is undergoing treatment for throat cancer.

Ronnie Drew remains the most productive of the Dubs. A preview of his forthcoming cd, There's life in the old dog yet, can be found in the Oct. 1st edition of the newspaper Sunday World. Songs include There's life in the old dog yet, Molly Malone, Gold and silver days, Donegal Danny and four other songs.
Also, a five-cd collection of Ronnie reading "Irish Myths and Legend Story" has been issued by the Irish Sun newspaper. Both items can be found on E-bay.
