Villa Nirvana: Reviews

Oct 30, 2008
My family and I stayed at Villa Nirvana, Sanctuary Villa Resort for 5 days. Overall the accomodation was outstanding ... clean, well maintained, all required comforts.
The housekeeping service was prompt. Of particular mention is the surrounding grounds which is large, well maintained and gives the impression of being in one's own little piece of paradise.
Sunset views are beautiful from this Villa. The private plunge pool is also very convenient.
Two minor things could be done to enhance an already great place: pave the little piece of road to Villa Nirvana, install some compound lights.
(Note from owner: Compound lights were installed in December 2008)
Thank you for a great vacation!

Villa Nirvana was a great find! We were six 20-somethings from New York City who wanted to get away to a new, interesting and relaxing location. Tobago and the Villa Nirvana were perfect.
The house was clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished with everything we needed and could ask for. The housekeeper was extremely nice and a real treat to have.
The location was great. We had a car for the week, which was great. The owners helped us rent the car from a friend, which was nice.
I recommend this property and Tobago!

I wish to thank the Management of Sanctuary Villas for a wonderful vacation.
My family and I found the property to be outstanding in terms of cleanliness, location, landscaping and amenities.
Villa Nirvana is indeed a beautiful villa and we'll be back.

The first thing that captured my attention was the price and value for money (I guess accountants always look at price!). We were getting a three bedroom villa, each bedroom having its own washroom, for less than three hotel rooms would cost. In addition, the villa came with its own splash pool.
The villa was exactly as described; comfortable, with a very good layout, and two separate porches giving great views of the sea and surrounding areas. Well-appointed kitchen and good-sized living/dining area. The maid service was excellent. As we had children with us the washer and dryer was a bonus.
In the evenings we barbequed on the front porch and enjoyed the splash pool. Extremely quiet area away from the late-night noise of some of the other tourist areas. Nowhere is far in Tobago. All the good beaches are within a 5-15 minute drive from the villa. What really capped the experience was the private splash pool.
All in all, it was a great experience and we would definitely do it again. Highly recommended

I have visited Villa Nirvana twice, the first time in 2003 and then in 2008. Five years passed and on arriving at the villa the second time, nothing had changed.
The place is spotlessly clean and facilities are second to none. The barbecue comes into its own as the fishermen land their catch around 3pm on a nearby sea wall. Local vegetables and fruits and caribbean spices are all available within a mile. The tranquility of a home-cooked feast watching the sun go down over the reef is something to remember. Although the villa is situated on a development, it is notably quiet with no disturbance from neighbours.
It can get quite humid on this side of the island, so the air-con in all bedrooms, ceiling fans in the living room, and the laundry facilities are very welcome. The only annoyance at the villa is the mosquitos, so body spray insecticide is a must for late evenings on the veranda.
We stumbled across Nirvana on the internet. We called Frank -- a laid back, genuine guy who wants your stay to be the best it can be. On arriving, the place lived up to is description. Excellent.
You do need a car when you're at Nirvana. Hiring one is pocket change though, and so is petrol. The roads are, well, entertaining, especially when touring the more rural parts of the island. It's well worth a drive through the rain forest and visiting Charlotteville.
The locals are friendly and appreciate holiday trade unlike some destinations.
For good food I'd recommend Me Shells (silly name but fantastic food though quite pricey), Bonkers (for a no-frills lunch with good surroundings). There's a fish restaurant at the bottom of the hill, again, no frills, but good food and drink, run by an irish couple who won't let you leave sober. And if you're homesick for an English breakfast, the Hilton hotel does a good one!
If you're after a tranquil holiday with a superb base, Villa Nirvana and Tobago are hard to beat.

Staying at Villa Nirvana is much more than the perfect vacation away from home. The villa is well equiped with all necessary amenities. It is very clean and tidy and well kept. The private rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and ensuite bathrooms. Each room provides a spectacular view of the ocean and Buccoo Reef.
The plunge pool is just a step out from the main level bedroom and living/family room and is a great for the whole family (any ages) to sit around and relax.
We have stayed at Villa Nirvana on several occassions and always felt safe in this secured environment.
We highly recommend taking a vacation at Villa Nirvana in Tobago.

In Feb. 2008 I stayed at Villa Nirvana with 5 of my closest friends. We had a wonderful time! The villa is beautifully decorated and furnished. We love to cook and we found everything we needed and more in the well equipped kitchen and of course the bbq-grill was used many times.
The cleaning service was impecable and the owners of this villa are an extremely friendly and accommodating local couple who gave us many suggestions for places to dine, activities on the island, all provided in their well designed handbook found in the villa.
I highly recommend this villa. In fact I have already booked 2 weeks in Feb. 2009 to stay here and share this special place with more friends and family.
Cheers
