Dakota sat in her trailer and re-read the note that Nickolas gave MyKenna to give to her. She was so tempted to call him, but she didnt want some stupid song to continue having that power over her. It was the same every time he did something wrong. Nickolas would use the same song to make things better and that would be it. She would forgive him and hed be free to hurt her over and over again. How could she let some stupid song get the best of her and change her mind within seconds? It wasnt fair and Nickolas used it to his advantage and she hated him. She went to rip the paper in half just as there was a knock on the door.
Who is it?
Delivery for a Dakota Jacobson. Dakota sighed and got up. She opened the door and saw the florist. Hi.
Hi.
Dakota Jacobson?
Yeah.
Sign here please. He pointed to the line and she signed her name. Thank you and here ya go. He handed her the roses. Have a nice night.
Thank you. She looked at the roses and closed the door. She set the roses on the table and looked for a card. She found it and picked it up. She took the card from the little envelope and read it: Shorty, I wanted to find something as beautiful as you, but thats one mission thats definitely impossible. I know these roses arent going to make up for my mistakes, but I miss you. Lets talk, please. I love you so much. Dakota looked back at the roses and sighed. Bastard. She stopped her tears from coming and picked up her bag. She walked from her trailer and found James. Hey, James.
Hey, James said. What can I do for you?
If you dont need me anytime soon theres something I have to take care of.
Uh He flipped through his papers. Not at the moment. Not for a couple hours at least until they get the set done.
Ok. When ya need me just give me a call. Ill only be an hour or so, but I really have to take care of this.
Go ahead. Ill have someone call when its ready.
Ok, thanks a lot. He smiled and she walked away. She found her rental car in the crowd and gave a disgusted sigh when she noticed it was blocked in.
Going somewhere? Orlando asked and she looked.
Theres something I have to take care of, Dakota said. But unfortunately Im blocked in.
Is there anything I can do to help?
May I borrow your car? She smirked.
Just as long as you promise to keep it in one piece.
I promise.
Ok. He handed her his keys.
Thank you so much.
Youre welcome. He pointed to his car. Its down there on the end and not parked in.
Ill be back later. He nodded and she walked away. She got in the car and left the set. She drove the twenty minutes to the hotel and parked the car. She sat there a moment then got out. She walked to the entrance and got out the paper with Nickolas room number on it. She walked inside and went to the elevator. It opened and she got on.
Floor? the guy asked.
Twenty-one, Dakota replied and the guy nodded.
Thats a popular floor this week.
Oh yeah.
Yeah; Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys is staying on that floor and the fans are going crazy. Dakota just smiled. Are you staying here?
No; umIm just visiting a friend thats here. The elevator opened.
The 21st floor.
Thank you. Dakota walked from the elevator and walked down the hall to room 2115. She looked at each number and then found it at the end of the hall. She put the paper back in her bag and just stood there a moment. In a way she hoped something would happen so she didnt have to go through this. She wanted her phone to ring or maybe even the fire alarm to go off. But it wasnt going to happen though and she knew that. She was here for a reason and that reason was to talk to Nickolas. She took a deep breath and slowly knocked on the door. She waited a second and it opened.
DJ, Nickolas said and she just looked at him. I was hoping you would come. Cmon in. He opened the door more and she went to walk in, but stopped. She looked at Nickolas and shook her head.
Is this why you wanted me to come here? Dakota asked trying to hold back her tears. So I can catch you with Tiffany again?
Of course not, Nickolas said.
Go to hell, Dakota said and she walked away.
DJ! He ran after her and stopped her at the elevator. I didnt invite Tiffany here. I was hoping you would come by so we can talk and she showed up. I told her to leave and of course she wouldnt.
Do you want me to believe that after I caught you with her before?
Nothings going on with Tiffany. I swear to you. I just want us to talk. She just looked at him and he wiped the tear from her eye, as Tiffany joined them.
Ill see ya later, Nick, Tiffany said.
No you wont, Nickolas said hitting the button for the elevator. Ill make sure of it. He grabbed Dakotas hand and pulled her back to his room. He pulled her inside and shut the door, as she pulled her hand away.
What makes you think you can just do whatever you want to me? Dakota asked. I aint a piece of meat. You have no right to just grab me and drag me in here. Im leaving, because I realized I have nothing to say to you after all. She went towards the door and Nickolas stepped in front of it.
Youre not going anywhere.
Excuse me?
Not until we talk.
What can we talk about, Nick? Everything was said and done.
I owe you an explanation and thats what youre going to get. Dakota started chuckling and Nickolas just looked at her.
Youre going to give me an explanation of what happened? Where was it three months ago when I actually wanted it? I dont care if I ever get one from you anymore.
I was a bastard to you three months ago.
And you still are.
I understand your anger.
No you dont, Nickolas. You didnt catch me with some other guy. I would never do that to you. The thought of its great, but I love you too much to ever hurt you like the way you hurt me. If you loved me at all you wouldnt have been with Tiffany.
I know and if I could take it back I would.
But you cant.
I know and thats what I hate. I hurt you and I wish I hadnt. Dakota sighed and sat down. She looked at her watch and then looked at Nickolas.
You have forty minutes so you better make it good.
Alright. He sat across from her and they just looked at each other.
