�Come here, beautiful,� Aaron said. MyKenna smiled, as she sat down on the bed next to him. Aaron pulled her back so her head was lying on his stomach and he started to stroke her hair. �What�s the matter?�
�Nothing,� MyKenna replied smiling up at him.
�You know you can�t fool me.�
�What do you mean?�
Aaron laughed softly. �I can always tell when something�s on your mind. You go in this quiet mood and you barely say two words to me when we�re alone together. So, what�s bothering you?�
�I guess this whole Nick/DJ thing�s just got me thinking�I mean, they really love each other and they�re not together. Do you think if people really love each other they should be apart?�
�What kind of question is that?� Aaron questioned frowning. �If two people are in love then of course they should be together. I know you�re a little worried about DJ, because she�s your girl and everything, but I really think there�s no need to be. She can�t get any more hurt than she already has. Nick can�t have any more secrets stashed away can he?�
MyKenna sat up on the bed and looked straight into Aaron�s eyes and sighed. �I need to tell you something. I hate the fact that I haven�t been honest with you about it, but I really hope that you�re not going to be mad at me, because you have to understand that I was petrified of losing you...�
�Whoa, whoa, slow down, Cutie,� Aaron interrupted, as he sat up to be face to face with MyKenna. �What are you talking about?� MyKenna stood up and faced Aaron. Before she had a chance to speak again, Aaron got up off the bed and walked over to her. He took her hands and put them around his waist, then slid his own around her waist. MyKenna laid her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. She prayed this wouldn�t be the last time she would get the chance to hold him like this.
�I love you, you do know that right?�
�I love you too.� He smiled. �But what haven�t you been honest about?�
�I wanted to tell you, but Nick said we shouldn�t and I didn�t want to lose you�� MyKenna started with a sigh.
�Hold on, where does my brother come into this?� Aaron enquired and MyKenna took a deep breath.
�Ok, you know when Nick and I kissed?�
�Oh God, MyKenna,� Aaron moaned, �We�ve been through all this, we�re past it and we�re fine now. Why do you insist on dragging up the past?� He sat back down on the bed.
�Please, AC, just listen to me.� MyKenna sat down next to him. �It wasn�t just a kiss. That night, both of us, we were completely drunk and well, things went a little further than either of us wanted to.� She took a deep breath and left it out slowly, as Aaron looked at her and waited patiently. �We ended up sleeping together.� Aaron just stared at her in disbelief for what seemed like the longest time. He started getting sick to his stomach and looked away from her. He got up off the bed and started pacing around the room, as MyKenna watched him; waiting for him to speak. He felt like he didn�t know anything about the girl he fell in love with; twice.
�You�re serious?� He eventually wanted to know.
�Yes,� she answered quietly. �I�m sorry. I love you and I�ve never had feelings for Nick.�
�You slept with a guy that you have no feelings for? So what? You�re a slut then? I bet you�ve been with other guys behind my back too haven�t you?�
�That�s not fair, Aaron, I haven�t been with anyone else.�
�No? No, what�s not fair is that three months ago you were swearing to me that it was just a kiss and I believed you! Damn it, I was a fool, you must�ve been laughing so hard behind my back. Well, not anymore, MyKenna. Get the hell out of here.�
�Wait a minute, Aaron, we can talk this out I know we can. We love each other and just like you said before, if two people love each other they should be together.�
�We talked this out before, MyKenna, and I gave you your second chance. Why didn�t you tell me the truth then? Or four months ago when DJ caught you two together? Does she know about this?�
�No, not yet. That�s why Nick didn�t want me to tell you, because he knew you�d tell DJ.�
�Damn right I�d tell her. She deserves to know what a lying slut her supposed best friend is.� Aaron picked his coat up off the bed and grabbed MyKenna�s arm, as he pushed her out of the door.
�Aaron, where are we going?�
�I don�t care where you go, but I�m going to see DJ.�
�Aaron, wait! Nick wants to tell her himself, he wants to be honest with her now.�
�Oh yeah? The day my brother is honest with DJ is the day I see hell freeze over. He�s had four months to be honest with her and I care about her too much to see her make another mistake by getting back with him when she doesn�t have all the information to make her decision on.� He got on the elevator and MyKenna just stood there, as the tears went down her face.
