Sunshine sat alone in her kitchen and debated over whether or not to eat breakfast. She never ate breakfast, but Nickolas got her in the habit. Just the thought of food made her want to throw up. She was feeling that way the past several weeks. She figured the thought of Nickolas actually gone was making her sick. The first few weeks she refused to believe it. She didn�t want to believe he would hurt her again. Not at this moment in their lives. Not when Danielle was going to give them the family they wanted. Not when Sunshine was going through her treatments so they could get pregnant one day. Not when she needed him the most.
She had to face reality though and it took her almost three months to do so. She waited by the phone. She waited for him to open the door. She waited at both their homes and he never showed. She woke up one morning and it hit her. He was gone. He probably wasn�t coming back either. He never left a reason. No one saw him. No one spoke to him. Not even his family. The worst part of it all was that she didn�t know if he was all right. She hated not knowing and it hurt. It hurt a lot.
It made her cry. Just like now. Not know if her husband was ok drove her nuts. She cried for him, because it hurt not knowing. She would curl up in a ball and cry. Then it made her sick and she would throw up. It didn�t help though and she didn�t care. To her it proved how much she loved him. And she would always love him. She would die loving him. She didn�t care what others thought. She knew what she wanted. She wanted Nickolas and no one else.
Tears continuously flowed from her eyes and there was a knock. Damn it. Company was the last thing she wanted. And she was going to throw up. And it wasn�t going to wait any longer. She got to the sink just as it forced itself from her mouth. It came out a second time as she was joined in the kitchen.
�Sunn, are you all right?� Danielle asked.
�Go away,� Sunshine groaned as a hand was placed on her back. �I said go away. I�m perfectly capable of throwing up on my own.�
�Are you all right?� Aaron asked.
�I�m fine.� He knew better though. She grabbed the towel and put it over her mouth.
�Go clean up,� Drake ordered. �We can clean this up.� Sunshine just nodded and walked from the kitchen.
�Is she all right?� Danielle questioned.
�She�s just got a bug,� Drake lied as she and Aaron clean up.
�I vote pregnancy,� Josephine said sitting down.
�She can�t have kids right now, moron,� Danielle said. �The doc didn�t give the ok.�
�It could happen,� Josephine stated. �With all the problems I was having I didn�t think I�d get pregnant again. I�m four months now.�
�Well yours wasn�t life threatening,� Danielle pointed out.
�Will you guys please come and get these brats!� Sunshine yelled from the parlor. �And will you stop that fucking pounding!�
�We�re just doing our job, ma�am,� the construction guy said.
�I don�t care. Do it quietly or stop. When will you be done?�
�We should be done Tuesday.�
�Thank God.� The others walked from the kitchen. �Howie, how drunk was I when I told you to go ahead and join the two condos?� They all looked at her as the kids ran around her. �Will you just stop already? I�m not in the mood.�
�Sunshine, are you up for breakfast?� Kevin asked.
�I�m not in the mood for anything right now.�
�We thought that since we were all together finally we�d have breakfast,� Venus stated.
�Didn�t you hear me? I�m not in the mood and we�re not all together, V. Did you forget about Nick? My husband.�
�He walked out, Sunn and I highly doubt he�s coming back.�
�Son of a bitch! Who the hell gave you the right to come into my home and tell me my husband isn�t coming home? He loves me and he loves our unborn children and that is going to bring him back.�
�I can�t believe how pathetic and na�ve you are. If Nick loved you he�d be here right now.�
�You don�t know him like I do.�
�So it makes it ok that he walked out two, almost three, months ago? I don�t think it does.�
�I don�t have to listen to this.� She started walking away.
�That�s because you know I�m right.�
She spun around and yelled, �You�re wrong! Nickolas loves me and would never stay away!�
�Really? Where is he? Where�s Nick? He walked out Sunnie so move on. You deserve better.�
�Bullshit! You know Nick treated me like a queen. You�re hatred for Nick is out of pure jealousy. You�re jealous, because Kevin doesn�t treat you half as good as Nick treats me and that pisses you off.� Venus slapped her across the face, but Sunshine just grinned. �You�re just too stupid to admit the truth. You�re living in a delusion and it�s sad, Venus.�
�Me? At least my husband didn�t say he loved me and then walk out on me. Nick does not love you, Sunshine, and you�re too blind to see that.� Sunshine shook her head. �You know I�m right.�
�I know you�re wrong.�
�I almost feel sorry for you. Nick hurt you so many times and you still defend the bastard.�
�Because he�s worth defending.�
�Nick stopped loving you the moment he found out you prevented yourself from ever having kids.� Sunshine connected her fist with Venus� jaw, but no one intervened.
�Get the hell out. Now!�
�Nick doesn�t love you. He probably already found someone else and you�re waiting around for nothing.� Sunshine shoved her backwards, but Kevin grabbed his wife before she fell.
�Get out! I never want to see your lying face again. We are no longer friends.� Venus just looked at her. �Out!�
�Come on, V,� Kevin said picking up the car seat. Sunshine glared at Venus, as Kevin pushed her to the door. He handed her the car seat with Austin Ray and then rounded up Kyle, Serena, and Dakota. �I�m sorry.�
�Just go, Kevin. Please.� Kevin honored her request and left the condo as the others looked at her. �What?�
�You shouldn�t take it out on Kevin for Venus� behavior,� Brian said.
�Do you feel the same as Venus?� Her tears streamed down her face. �Do you think Nick stopped loving me after learning I can�t have kids?�
�Sunnie,� Aaron said.
�Do you think he�s not coming back and found someone else?�
�Of course not, Baby Girl,� Alexander said. �We all know how much Nick loves you. He�s going to come back.�
�He�s right,� Josephine agreed. �Nick wouldn�t trade you for the world.�
�After all you are his Sweets,� Brian said trying to make her feel better.
�Just leave me alone,� Sunshine said pushing Aaron away and they watched her go back the hall.
