| Friday, December 30, 2005 Sunshine and Nickolas sat in their Switzerland home with Dr. Schulenburg and watched him look over Sunshines file. For the past month, Sunshine was doing her rehab in an in-home program in Switzerland for her addiction to anti-depressants. She believed she was finally better since she and Nickolas made love the night before, but she also knew that it was the doctors call. He decided if she was cured or not. She was hoping he would say she was cured so they could go home and finish planning their wedding. Plus she was starting to miss everyone. Dr. Schulenburg cleared his throat and Sunshine looked at him, but he said nothing. She looked at Nickolas and he just shrugged and she looked back at the doctor. She waited a few more moments then he said, I must admit I am surprised, Sunshine. What for? Sunshine asked. Your recovery. Its remarkable. With the in-home programs I have been doing, the average full recovery is six months and no less than three. It only took you one month. I am surprised. Well I had Nick here helping me. Yes he has played a major role in your recovery. He wrote in his notes and Sunshine watched him. I guess there is only one thing left for me to do. They looked at each other a moment and Dr. Schulenburg smiled. You are cured, Miss Robinson. Really? Yes; you can go home. I can go home. She smiled and looked at Nickolas and he just smiled himself, but said nothing. Thank you, Doc. Dont thank me. Im just here merely to listen. Everything else is up to the patient. You had the desire to get better and you did. You pretty much cured yourself. But I still thank you. Then youre welcome. So how much do we owe you? Nickolas asked. Dont worry about it right now. Ill send you a bill. Send it to our Florida address. Very well. Dr. Schulenburg looked at his watch. Well I must be going. I have another appointment. They all stood up. Sunshine, Nickolas, I hope to see you both again, but under better circumstances. Like wise, Sunshine said walking him to the door. Thank you for all your help. Its what I get paid for. They both laughed. Goodbye. Goodbye. Dr. Schulenburg walked out and Sunshine closed the door. She just stood there a second then looked at a smiling Nickolas. Im cured. I couldve told you that last night, Nickolas stated and Sunshine walked over to him. Maybe this is what I needed; some alone time with just you. When we got back together I thought everything was going to be fine, but we were never alone so we never got the chance to reconnect. I guess not getting that chance hurt me more than I realized and then when we decided to go to Vegas with Brian and Danielle you basically shrugged me off and that hurt. I never meant to shrug you off. I know. I just hurt you with the whole kid thing and didnt realize it. Dont worry about it. I would love to have children with you, but we can discuss it after were married. We can wait a few years. Yes we can. I just know what I want right now and thats you. I want you too. He smiled and kissed her. I love you. I love you more. Lets go pack. She grabbed his hand and pulled him to the stairs. Whats the rush? A wedding that is going to be in, like, five months. I want to finish planning it. I think it can wait a few more hours. Nothings going to happen to change it or whatever. I know I just He smiled and kissed her. Ok maybe it can wait a few more hours. It can. He picked her up and carried her back over to the sofa. He laid her down and got on top of her. They both smiled and kissed then Sunshine said, Nick. Yeah, Sweets. He started kissing her neck and chest. I want to thank you for being here with me. He looked at her. I wouldnt want to be anywhere else. It just means a lot to me that you really love me enough to stay by my side through this. Not a lot of guys would stick around when their girlfriend has a problem and just walk away. You know I aint like other guys. I love you enough to stick around. I put you on anti-depressants and I made a vow to help you through your addiction. And I love you for it. CHAPTER 2 HOME |
