1.

Who are we to give advice
As to how you live life
I’m just a man without a plan
A rogue wave against the sand
But in my time rushing across this land
I’ve seen no working deities hand
Pray as you wish and wish you might
Too many kids went hungry tonight
Sleeping in cars, living outdoors
But don’t mind them as you ask for more
Try not to get down on yourself
That is until you’ve hoarded your wealth
It doesn’t take much but about a buck
If you just can’t see it’s value
you’ve never been down, in the shadows
Too fearful even to look up

Might not seem like much, a tiny thing
But a man, the other side of town would sing
Smaller still in the middle of the night
wrapped up in cardboard so tight
Long forgotten sheets of cotton
Pillow cases of pure white
You work hard no one can dispute
yet help along the way was given to you
Pay if forward and keep it going
dare to keep the greed from showing
Don’t preach down, it’s a hand up
Squandered, later wasted, so what
Lets not forget we are all human
Some better off but it’s not for their doin
Without rhyme or reason tis always the season
For spreading warmth and cheer
Lets all rejoice each day of the year
Give as you can, take what you will
Moving along when you’ve had your fill
