Who play the game
- Because it is cheaper to maintain most middle class household can afford a board and has board
- Due to its availability most start the game when 5-10years old and master within 3-4years

- Played on powdered boards with wooden pieeces (carrom-men).
- People prefer to use "ivory" strikers but since it costs a life of a tusker, players adjusted to other types of strikers with standard weight
- Sri Lankan Carrom Federation accepts rules of playing using the "THUMB" hence "thumbing"
