  February 19th, 2004

Location: Save Mart Center (Fresno, California)
SmackDown! Notes: RM
walked into Paul Heyman's office and asked for a rematch against Chavo Guerrero for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.  Heyman granted the rematch and told Rey that next week on SmackDown!, he'll face Chavo for the title.  Heyman then told Mysterio to take the night off because Chavo was facing Eddie Guerrero for the WWE Championship later on and if Chavo won the title, he'd get the opportunity to win that title next week as well.

Mysterio appeared to have taken the night off but midway through the WWE Championship match, Chavo Guerrero Sr. interfered and Rey ran down the ramp to hit a variation of the 619 on the older Guerrero but before Rey could do much damage, referees sent him back up the ramp.  However, after Eddie hit the Frog Splash on Chavo, special referee Kurt Angle refused to make the count and attacked Eddie instead.  Mysterio appeared to the ring for a second time to try to make the save but ended up getting powerbombed & thrown to the outside by Angle.  Angle then continued to attack Eddie until he was a bloody mess to end the show.

  February 26th, 2004

Location: Kemper Arena (Kansas City, Missouri)
Match:
Rey Mysterio & John Cena vs The Big Show & Chavo Guerrero
Match Type:
Tag Team
Outcome:
Mysterio & Cena by pinfall

Match Note:
Mysterio got the pin on Chavo after hitting him with the 619.

Other Notes:
The first match of the night featured Mysterio, Billy Kidman, Jamie Noble & Nunzio in a 4-Way Dance with the winner getting a shot at Chavo Guerrero and the WWE Cruiserweight Title at WrestleMania XX.  However, before a winner could be decided, Paul Heyman came out to the top of the ramp alongside Tajiri & Kyo Dai and ordered the match to be stopped.  Heyman told the four men in the ring that since there was no Japanese representation in the match, the WWE could be setting themselves up for a potential lawsuit.  Heyman then announced that at WrestleMania XX, the first ever WWE Cruiserweight Open would take place with the winner taking home the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
