Celebration of Belmont Wetlands State Park
On the 4th of September, 2005, a small group of long time Lake Macquarie Coastal and Wetlands Alliance members gathered to celebrate the news that the BHP land between Redhead and Belmont would become a new state park.
The cold, wet weather prevented the planned picnic on the beach but didn't dampen the enthusiasm of those who had been working towards this outcome for nine years.
