Lake Macquarie Coastal and Wetlands Alliance are supporting Lake Macquarie City Council's attempts to prevent the Aeropelican owners from having the airport rezoned to allow residential development.

This would damage the airfield buffer zones - currently very well nurtured by Landcare. It would also have adverse affects on our proposed Lake Macquarie Coastal Wetlands Park.

At this time Lake Macquarie City Council are trying to sell the airport and attract a new airline operator to use it.
