I wish I could go on a trip far away
To the Smokeys, Appalachians, and Cascades
To see the Grand Canyon once in my life
To see Mt Helene must be a beautiful sight.
I want to go to the Grand Ole Opry show
Because of the country music that I love so
I want to go to Yellowstone National Park
And sit by a campfire-there in the dark.
Travel Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee
Or on a boat fishing the ocean I'd love to be
A ride across country on a train would be fun
and send post cards home to everyone
To the top of Lady Liberty I want to go
Take a tour through Graceland I'd love so
And a trip to Hollywood that would be so neat
Just to feel California beneath my feet
The Hawaiian Islands is a beautiful dream
To the Virginias to splash in the streams
Up and down the Mississippi I want to ride
Or on a beach when in comes the tide
There is so much in our country to see
So thankful to God forever I'll be
And God willing all these places I'll go
To see all of this country that I love so.
