Things Always Come Back

I'm sorry I asked you to come help me out
But I'm not going to sit here alone and pout
I wish there had been more from me to expect
But I guess what we dish out is what we will get
If I'd given you more when you were young
But now it's too late-what's done is done
If I had spent alot more time with you
I wouldn't be having these feelings I do
All those times you needed me so
But I always had places I needed to go
Like going dancing with the men in my life
Now as I look back it cuts like a knife
So now you all have lives of your own
So it stands to reason now I'll be alone
But I'm not going to sit here and worry today
Because it's already turned me old and gray
Pay backs are hell I've always been told
But we don't understand until we get old
I'm so very sorry for the things I've done
I never really thought I would hurt anyone
You've all went your way and I'm left behind
To ask the Lord for some peace of mind
I know He is here to help me through
But I pray when I'm gone He'll watch over you.
