Prayer by Prayer

The bills pile up day after day,
I sit and worry which ones to pay.

House, utilities, or food to survive?
We need the doctor to stay alive.

Our health keeps going down the hill,
Seems every month we need more pills.

How mush longer can we keep our home?
The collection agency is on the phone.

Seems there's no end to the troubles,
All of these bills just seem to double.

Our nerves are only held by a thread,
The daily mail we always dread.

Our dreams are going down the drain,
How long now before we go insane?

We want so much to pay them all,
But there's no one on whom we can call.

I wish they knew how much we try,
The hours I sit in this bed and cry.

I pray a blessing that God will send,
To put our troubles to an end.

Prayers by day, prayers by night,
Please dear Lord, is the end in sight?
