My Summer Place

I've had a hard time writing today,
Or even thinking of what to say.
But I'm going to try to get this out,
So first I'll tell you how it came about.

I told you before in A Dream Away
And When I Move Home to my place.
I had an old trailer there on our land,
Close to my garden and flowers I plant.

But it was my little "summer place"
That I'd fixed up with cutains of lace.
I've done so many things over there,
So when the day came I'd be prepared.

As he was mowing our beautiful lawn,
I trimmed a few flowers and then we came home.
But before I had left from over there,
I bowed my head and said a prayer.

"Please let us move home," I asked the Lord,
"So I can wake up here every morn".
With one last look I came back to the house,
In just a while so did my spouse.

We were only home an hour before,
Soon there was a knock on the door.
See, yesterday my trailer burned down,
On my little summer place just across town.
