I live with guilt from my past,
Forever in my heart it will last.
Hearts were broken from my deeds,
So now I reap my crop of seeds.
There was a saying I always had,
"Get even," I said, "don't get mad".
Getting even will never work,
Because we live by our words.
His words are how we should live,
He told us we should forgive.
I'll live with my sins every day,
Until the Lord takes me away.
In my head I'd made it right,
I'd block reality from my mind.
Once you begin to live in sin,
You'll never have peace within.
We one day will face the truth,
For your sins always catch up with you.
Your guilt you'll carry for so long,
When you get even for a wrong.
It's up to Him to make them pay,
So give it to the Lord today!
