MY FIRST BABY GIRL
It dosen`t seem like fourty years When God gave you to me, dear, In an old log cabin late one night. My very first, I was so full of fright, The most beautiful feeling in the world Was to see my first born baby girl. The feeling of holding my first child To this day still makes me smile. You were walking at nine months old. But there are things you don`t want told, Like stripping down to the bare skin Our little Lady Godiva was at it again, This name neighbors gave to you. Riding your rocking horse at age two. You had a habit when you was small, To sit all stooped down by the wall, You just looked so cute sitting there, Big blue eyes and short blonde hair. If you did something you shouldn`t do, You ran to the corner as if you knew. Such daring chances you would take. Once you ran in the water at the lake. But we could tell it made you mad, As you were rescued by your dad. You wanted to go back in and play, But you scared us enough for one day! You have been a treasure in my world, Happy Birthday to My First Baby Girl. Written By Thelma Shutters 1-10-03 Dedicated to Ida Nilene Born 1-11-63
