A Dream Away

Springtime is on it's way I see,
This time of year God gives to me.
So I hope that spring isn't late,
For then my pain is not so great.

So I can plant my flowers and trees,
And a big garden, I really need.
Then across town, I will go,
To my place that I love so.

At that place there's not much land,
But there I have so many plans.
I feel so close to God above,
And there I feel all His love.

For under the old hackleberry tree,
I've planted flowers for all to see.
Under it's shade, hours Ive spent,
With my family and my friends.

And when my garden is fully grown,
I share with all the ones I know.
From the picnic table to the wishing well,
All the stories I could tell.

There we'll build a house one day,
And when we do, there I'll stay.
While sitting in my old yard swing,
I'll listen to the birds all sing.

So I pray another spring He takes
The pain away so I can play.
I ask the Lord to bless this place,
Where I want to spend all my days.

Until then, across town I'll go,
So I can watch my garden grow.
