SHATTERED DREAMS

In desperation no place to live
Her baby was but four days old
No home or food could she give
She believed what she was told

In that bed she spent four days
Holding her baby day and night
Then they took her child away
She wondered if shed done alright

She must make a quick decision
She had no place she could turn
Didn`t read a flawed permission
A lesson she was soon to learn

Thought it would be just a while
Till she had got back on her feet
Praying soon to hold her child
Until she learned of the deceit

Nothing in life then mattered
For her life was filled with tears
Her dreams then were shattered
She may not see her now for years

Determined she was on a mission
Only to find all records are sealed
Yet regretting that fateful decision
Wishing she had her little baby still

Each year on her baby`s birthday
She drank until she could not feel
Searching for her child everyday
Told only " Records are sealed"

Then came the day she got the call
Your daughter is searching for you
If our system had not been flawed
This pain no one would go through

So those days are rarely of spoken
And her life is much better it seems
No more is her heart now broken
Still she thinks of Shattered Dreams
