CAN`T TAKE MY MEMORIES
When little, they walk on our feet, Grown up, they walk on our hearts. Until death I shall not feel defeat, Even though we are worlds apart.
There is glory in all our memories, A lasting treasure to forever hold. In that last breath they will be seen, Until that flash of our lives unfold.
This is so hard to be estranged, Away from the child you adore. When they insist you must change, Before they walk into your door.
I would rather they walk on my feet, Than to deal with this broken heart. To only pass them on the street, I would not feel we are far apart.
A memory, a golden stepping stone, Which delivers us to our destination. To keep us from feeling so all alone, Is God greatest blessing of creation.
Dear, you might take your love away, You may even take away my dreams. And hurt me with the things you say, But you can`t take my memories. Written By Thelma Shutters 2-09-03 |
