The 54 Cafe

An honest days work, an honest days pay.
I have been told through out my days.
Just give your all whenever you can,
From washing walls to scrubbing pans.

Cleaning toilets, even mopping floors,
Washing windows, or big glass doors.
If in all your duties you never slack,
When you need a job they'll take you back.

But if you worry about the dirt,
On your dainty hands or on a shirt,
Your not giving everything you should,
Then your pay won't be what it could.

Remember the dirt will wash away,
But a bad performance is there to stay.
To your co-workers give support,
And you will never get a bad report.

If in every job we always take pride,
So much more we can take in stride.
I wish one more time I could wait tables,
But it will not be, for now I'm disabled.

There is a place that still brings back tears,
It's a little cafe where I worked for years.
Of this little place so much can be said,
My five kids and me it clothed and fed.

So today I have something I want to say,
I will forever be grateful to the 54 cafe.
