I wonder if our Veterans Affairs
Really worry about veterans cares.
Do they know what it is to live
On the pay this government gives?
Are they given enough to survive
After they have risked their lives?
For those who sit behind the desk
Are decisions based upon the risks?
Does the amount you make a day
Compare to any of our veterans pay?
Will the pay stretch for basic needs
Food, shelter or even glasses to see?
Will we give our best medical care
For the diseases they get over there?
Some are disabled stepping on mines
I wonder if it has crossed your mind.
When we send our soldiers off to war
And ask them to protect our shores.
A heartfelt speech our leaders make
About the pride in our soldiers they take.
Will they feel pride if our vets return
Or is there a lesson we should learn?
What do we take into consideration
Does it depend on their decorations?
It will depend on our Veterans Affairs
To give all our hero`s the best of care.
So I pray the Lord will guide their way
When they all decide our veterans pay.
