Material Things

I dream sometimes that money I have,
To buy you things you've never had.
I sit and think of your bills I'd pay,
And your house that I'd build one day!
And how I'd share it all around,
With all the people in our town.
And all the homeless I would help,
With a new start to help themselves.

And to all the children I'd love to be,
A Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.
For when we were little and very poor,
Santa Claus knocked on our door.
To bring all of us girls and boys,
Lots of happiness and lots of toys.
For it breaks my heart when you struggle so,

For you try so hard this I know.
And on my calender I have to see,
All your birthdays a reminder to me.
So I try to remember a call to make,

To say "I love you and happy birthday".
If on your special day you don't see,
A special gift for you from me,

It's not because I don't care,
It's because the money is not there.
Now this message from me I send,
To all my family and my friends.
The Lord above will help us through,
With all His love for me and you.
So don't question our Lord about our means,
Cuz he don't care about material things!
