HE BUILT GODS FLAME
I will remember til my dying day, In a little church not far away. When I was thirteen years old, A memory not to many I`ve told. I see that pastor in my mind, An older man but very kind. A blessing from the Lord I know, Passionate sermons for your soul. It started off as many days, Though changed me many ways. A sermon etched into my mind, Of a peace I never again will find. Oh, a most beautiful prayer he said, As we all stood to bow our heads. With music that just filled my soul, A prayer I felt down to my toes. Then Jesus Christ filled that room, Glorious glow around him loomed. A profusion of light from the Lord, I`ll always remember forever more. Encircled within this beautiful glow, Was the Lord, in my heart I know. Some dismissed the pastor I heard, They didn`t like his praying words. I wish I could remember his name, A man God used to build his flame. Written By Thelma Shutters 1-16-03 Dedicated to A pastor in A Little Church In Montevallo, Mo
