Nadiyaa na piye kabhi apnaa jal,

Vriksh na khaaye kabhi apnaa phal  x2

Apne tan ko man ko dhan ko

Dharma ko dey dey daann rey

Woh sacchaa insaan rey, woh sacchaa insaan  x2

Meaning:

Streams never “drink their own water”, nor do trees “eat their own fruit”

One who dedicates his/her body, mind, and wealth to Sanatana Dharma

Such a person is ideal.

चाहे मिले सोना चाँदी ×२

चाहे मिले रोटी बासी,

महल मिले बहु सुखकारी,

चाहे मिले कुटिया खाली

प्रेम और संतोष भाव से,

करता जो स्वीकार रे

वो सच्चा इन्सान रे, वो सच्चा इन्सान ×२

Chaahay miley sonaa chaandee  x2

Chaahay miley roti baasee

Mehal miley bahu sukhakaaree,

Chaahay miley kutiyaa khaalee

Prem aur santosh bhaav se,

Kartaa jo sveekaar rey

Woh sacchaa insaan rey, woh sacchaa insaan  x2

Meaning:

Whether one has gold and silver, or just stale bread

Whether one lives in a palatial house, or a simple hut

One who accepts it all with a loving and accepting attitude

Such a person is ideal.

चाहे करे निन्दा कोई ×२

चाहे कोई गुण गान करे,

फूलों से सतकार करे

काँटों की चिन्ता न धरे

मान और अपमान ही दोनो

जिसे के लिये समान रे

वो सच्चा इन्सान रे, वो सच्चा इन्सान

Chaahay koi gund gaan karey,

Phulo se satakaar karey,

Kaanton kee chintaa na dharey

Maan aur apmaan hee donoo

Jise ke liye samaan rey,

Woh sacchaa insaan rey, woh sacchaa insaan

Meaning:

Whether one is criticized, or praised

Whether one is honored with flowers, or is greeted with brickbats (thorns)

One who accepts both honor and condemnation with equanimity

Such a person is ideal.
