from mike: numero uno!
i'm sure all of you have been seeing the reports of the record sales and chart positions, etc. lots of "number ones" out there...i just wanted to balance that out with a "thanks" for all your support.
we worked really hard on the songs; each one is a complete idea, but at the same time, it's only part of the experience. the part that finishes it is when someone listens to it, thinks about it, and connects with it---bringing their own experience to it, and attaching a personal meaning to the songs. all of us in the band are really grateful for the fans who support the band and make the connection. because of that connection, our success is your success!
take care, and thanks again!

Message-Board:
just wanted to relay a couple great things about the special edition versions of the album.
first, the in-store special edition...i think the retail price was like $27 US or something like that, but MOST places are selling it for around $18 right now, which is amazing. i even heard of people buying it at places like target and best buy for around $16. if you haven't heard--the DVD it comes with has a 45 minute film about the making of, the W.I.D. video, the W.I.D. making of, plus a bunch of other stuff. it's pretty much the most amount of stuff we could get away with packing onto a special edition, and it's a remarkable deal at less than $20 US.
second, i just got the first copy of the internet-only book (around $100 US). i can't believe how good it came out. kudos to our art director, frank, and all the artists invovled. that thing is a monster...i hope you all like it. the prints came out great, too--i think they'd look good matted and framed together...
anyway, just wanted to put that stuff out there, for those who are looking to pick that stuff up.

Launch Radio Networks reports: LINKIN PARK singer Chester Bennington has announced the 12th anniversary concert for his Club Tattoo shops, scheduled for June 23 at the Clubhouse in Tempe, Arizona. SEVENDUST, BUCKCHERRY, OPERATOR, HED P.E. and other artists are all slated to perform, along with Bennington himself and his "fun" side band, BUCKET OF WEENIES. Over the years, Bennington has said that the tattoo business has provided a welcome distraction from music. "I love tattoos, I love the whole vibe about it, I love the people and the atmosphere," he said. "It's just a really great way for me to do something else that's not just music. It's fun. I love hooking up all the boys on the tours with tattoos, and I just think it's a beautiful art form, and it's another way for me to kind of diversify myself."
One week after its international release, the album has debuted #1 in the US, UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Norway, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, Philippines, Italy, Sweden, Austria, and Ireland and is certified platinum in Australia, Canada, Indonesia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, Austria, Switzerland, and France. It has also been certified gold in Czech, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand and UK. "We're shocked and humbled by this extraordinary show of support. We invested ourselves entirely into the creation of this album, with the hope that this music would resonate with our fans as deeply as it does with us. We couldn't be more excited about today's news," said guitarist, Brad Delson.
The public onsale date for the San Bernardino show on July 28 has been moved to June 16. LP Underground members, the new LPU presale date for this event will be announced soon, so be sure to check back for more information.

Thank You from Brad - LP
I can only hope to convey the gratitude we feel. The dedication of our entire fanbase has given us the confidence to take risks and continually challenge ourselves as musicians throughout our career.
Minutes to Midnight was just that: a huge risk. In making this album, we strived as a band to rediscover the reasons for starting up in the first place: experimentation, imagination, and fun. We went on an incredible journey and wound up in an incredibly exciting place.
Thank you all for your tremendous support. I hope that you connect with this album as deeply as we do.
